President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the assault on a United Nations’ aide helicopter within the Northeast by Boko Haram terrorists.
In an announcement by the Senior Particular Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari described the assault as a “rearguard motion” of members of the sect who he stated have been below stress from the army.
Buhari was quoted as saying that, “This newest cowardly assault on the UN humanitarian helicopter is yet one more determined rearguard motion by the Boko Haram terrorists who’ve been below intense stress from the Nigerian army.
“Let me reassure the worldwide neighborhood and Nigerians that this newest cowardly assault on a UN helicopter which claimed the lives of two individuals, together with a 5 -year outdated child, wouldn’t go with out extreme penalties.
