Kubrat Pulev has been accused of racism over a remark he made about Anthony Joshua forward of his world heavyweight title bout.
The 39-year-old Bulgarian will struggle the Nigerian-British heavyweight champion for his WBA, IBF, and WBO titles, with the struggle now set to happen in London on December 12.
Forward of their conflict, Pulev was requested about his verdict on Joshua – wherein he made a controversial remark about his pores and skin color.
‘His strengths? I’d say he has a really highly effective punch undeniably,’ mentioned Pulev throughout a press convention.
‘What are his different strengths? His tan is healthier than mine.’
His feedback relating to Joshua has sparked accusations of racism from boxing followers, with one demanding that he needs to be punished by the boxing authorities.
After listening to what Pulev mentioned, one fan wrote: ‘That’s a shameful Seventies remark. Terrible.’
