OPERATORS of a suspected child manufacturing unit in Imo State have reportedly attacked policemen who stormed the ability whereas trailing a person who allegedly stole a child from its mom at gunpoint.
The incident occurred in Umuocha group in Oguta council of the state, it was stated.
The Nation learnt that police went after the infant thief who reportedly fled into an hospital. On arrival on the facility, police noticed a number of kids and expectant moms “apparently used for little one trafficking”.
It was gatthered that because the policemen began asking questions, the proprietor of the hospital, one Harmless Onuoha, allegedly mobilised youths of the village, who surrounded the constructing, demobilised the police car and attacked the 4 policemen with totally different objects, inflicting varied levels of accidents on them.
It took the intervention of the member representing Oguta State constituency within the state home of meeting, Frank Ugboma, for the policemen to flee.
Ugboma stated the policemen “instructed me that instantly they stormed the unlawful child manufacturing unit disguised as hospital, the proprietor raised the alarm and the youths got here out and began resisting the police from arresting the person. They overpowered the policemen and destroyed their car that evening whereas the policemen managed to flee”.
Police spokesman Orlando Ikeokwu confirmed the incident, saying that the proprietor of the infant manufacturing unit was arrested however launched by the youths, whereas a police inspector sustained accidents.
