Edo lawmaker emerges Ize-Iyamu’s working mate

The lawmaker representing Etsako West Constituency 2 within the Edo State Home of Meeting, Gani Audu, has emerged because the working mate to the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) within the state, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu.

Audu, a former Chairman of Etsako West Native Authorities Council of Edo State, was strategically unveiled on Saturday.

A supply near Ize-Iyamu, who spoke in confidence, disclosed that Audu was picked to neutralise the impression of Edo Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, who’s from the realm, because the governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Social gathering (PDP), Governor Godwin Obaseki, insists on vying with Shaibu.

The September 19 governorship election in Edo State can be a straight battle between Obaseki and the 2016 governorship candidate of the PDP (Ize-Iyamu), who defected to APC final December and was given waiver to contest on Could 21 by members of Oshiomhole-led Nationwide Working Committee (NWC) of the celebration.

Obaseki, penultimate week, defected from the APC to the PDP following his disqualification by the Prof. Jonathan Ayuba-led seven-member APC’s screening committee.
