Residents of Port Harcourt, Rivers State capital, on Tuesday filed out of their numbers to protest towards the Particular Anti-Theft Squad, SARS, of the Nigeria Police Pressure, NPF.
The youths marched to the Police Headquarters in Moscow highway, Port Harcourt to register their displeasure over the actions of SARS operatives and police brutality on the whole.
That is coming regardless of a ban by the state Governor, Nyesom Wike.
Wike had banned anti-SARS protest, following the dissolution of the unit by the Inspector Common of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu.
The governor’s ban was made public in a press release by the state’s Commissioner for Data and Communications.
