End SARS: Work with Nigerians or face revolution – Dino Melaye warns Buhari govt

Dino Melaye, former Kogi West Senator, has suggested the Federal Authorities to work with protesting Nigerians or face revolution.

Melaye gave the recommendation whereas stressing that the federal government had no constitutional powers to ban protest.

The previous lawmaker stated the anti-police protest was a sign that Nigerians had woken up from their slumber.

In a tweet, Melaye wrote: “Authorities has no energy in our extant legal guidelines to ban protests.

“So, the Authorities should realise that the individuals have woken up from their slumber. Work with the individuals or welcome a REVOLUTION. SDM.“

The continued protest towards police brutality by aggrieved Nigerian youths has led to the dissolution of the Particular Anti-Theft Squad, SARS, unit of the Nigeria Police Pressure, NPF.

Following the dissolution of SARS, the Inspector Normal of Police, IGP, Mohammed Adamu had established the Particular Weapon and Ways Group, SWAT.
