The Anti-Kidnapping unit of the Bayelsa State Police Command has foiled the tried kidnap of a medical physician working on the Normal Hospital Odi, Kolokuma/ Opukuma Native Authorities Space of the State.
SP Asimin Butswat, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in a press release on Wednesday confirmed the tried kidnap.
He disclosed that the police bought credible intelligence that some suspected kidnappers conspired amongst themselves, went to the docs’ quarters on the Normal Hospital Odi, and tried to kidnap the doctor, however he was not residence.
On the instruction of the Commissioner of Police, Bayelsa State Command, CP Mike Okoli, the anti kidnapping group went to Odi city and arrested the 5 suspects, NAN reviews.
He stated that the five-man gang, all of their early 20s, had confessed to the crime.
Butswat added that investigation is ongoing and suspects would quickly be charged to court docket.
