Establishments to start first, second selection admissions Aug 21

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all tertiary establishments to start the conduct of the primary and second selection admissions from August 21.

The board gave the directive within the 2020 admission tips launched in Abuja by the board Spokesperson, Dr Benjamin Fabian.

Dr Fabian, within the tips, warned establishments towards duplication of varieties, including that they need to desist from promoting varieties for admissions into some listed programmes.

He urged establishments to advise candidates to use for the programmes by way of its workplace, saying that each one admission train have to be performed on the Central Admission Processing System.

“All purposes for admissions to First Diploma, Nationwide Diploma, Nationwide Innovation Diploma and the Nigeria Certificates in Schooling into full-time, distance studying, part-time, outreach, sandwich, and many others, have to be processed solely by way of JAMB.

”Establishments that need to position commercial can achieve this by advising candidates who utilized for the present Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination to vary to their establishment as first selection quite than requesting the candidates to buy one other software type or apply.

”That is to forestall the difficulty of double registration which is a violation of the JAMB mandate,” he stated.
