FG arraigns beauty surgeon, Dr Anu Adepoju, over consumer’s demise ~ TheNigerian Information

 

The Federal Competitors and Client Safety Fee (FCCPC) has arraigned a beauty surgeon, Dr Anu Adepoju, over the demise of her consumer, Nneka Onwuzuligbo, amongst different infractions.

Adepoju was arraigned on Friday alongside her agency, MedContour Companies Ltd, earlier than Justice Mohammed Liman on the Federal Excessive Court docket in Lagos.

The beauty surgeon, who was arrested on Wednesday, was arraigned for allegedly obstructing the investigation by the FCCPC into the case.

The FCCPC, within the five-count cost, accused the beauty surgeon of shunning summons by the company to seem and produce sure paperwork.

It stated, “Specifically, the above-mentioned Vivian Onwuzuligbo, a member of the Mrs Nnneka Miriam Barbara Onwuzuligbo (now deceased) alleged that the deceased died on account of the failed defendants’ beauty surgical procedure and he or she is aware about the occasions that led to the demise of the deceased.”

Prosecutor Babatunde Irukera stated the alleged incidents occurred between April 15 and Could 4, 2020, at No. 11a Ladi Alakija Avenue, Lekki Part 1, Lagos.

In keeping with him, Adepoju acted opposite to sections 33(3)(a) and 113(4)(a) of the FCCPC Act 2018 and was liable to be punished below sections 33(3) and 113(1) of the identical Act, amongst others.

The defendant, who claims to have been skilled in Turkey, nevertheless, pleaded not responsible to all the fees.

Justice Liman granted her bail on self-recognisance in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and adjourned until July 9 for graduation of trial.
