According to Russia Today (RT) reports on the 8th, the alert sounded near Iraq’s Baghdad International Airport. It has been reported that at least two rockets landed in the vicinity.
Jordanian-based Arabic weekly magazine Al-Hadath quoted a reporter as saying that two rockets had landed near the airport. The area is said to be home to Iraqi military installations and US forces.
According to reports, so far, no one has claimed responsibility for the attack, so it is unclear what the rocket attacked.
There are unconfirmed reports of injuries to Iraqi counter-terrorism task forces. At least five people were reported injured, two of them seriously injured, and are currently receiving treatment from a foreign medical staff stationed nearby.
