Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godswill Akpabio, has rubbished allegations that N40 billion is lacking within the Niger Delta Improvement Fee (NDDC).
Senator Akpabio made this identified on Monday when he confronted the Home of Representatives Committee probing the NDDC.
Recall that the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the Niger Delta and the NDDC, Peter Nwaoboshi, was embroiled in N3.6 billion contract fraud within the fee.
The NDDC spokesperson, Charles Odili, within the assertion, stated Mr Nwaoboshi (Delta North/PDP) used 11 firms as fronts to safe for himself an N3.6 billion contract in September 2016.
“The stock data present that these things had been provided and acquired on Senator Nwaoboshi’s enterprise premises and warehouse.
“Nonetheless, a number of the gadgets provided to Nwaoboshi’s warehouse by means of his cronies had been later resold to the Delta state authorities, whereas the others had been offered to different states by means of contracts awarded to him,” Mr Odili acknowledged.
Mr Nwaoboshi denied the allegations, saying he didn’t have any relationship with the businesses talked about by the NDDC.
The senator stated that the NDDC’s assertion was merely an try to distract the general public from the Nationwide Meeting’s probe.
