Nationwide Meeting insists on NDE for 774,000 jobs

The Nationwide Directorate of Employment (NDE) is statutorily empowered to recruit 774,000 low expert Nigerians for the Particular Public Works (SPW) scheme, the Nationwide Meeting mentioned on Tuesday.

Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, mentioned the Nationwide Meeting stood by its place that NDE is fully accountable for the implementation of the programme based on the legislation.

“The ministry has a supervisory function and the Nationwide Meeting has the oversight perform,” Lawan mentioned.

Senate spokesman Ajibola Basiru mentioned due to President Muhammadu Buhari’s intervention, the lawmakers have been now not calling for the programme’s suspension.
