The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has directed Nigerians with expired visas to go away earlier than August 17.
This was contained in an announcement on Tuesday launched by the Nigerian Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
It mentioned the UAE has granted waivers on fines and penalties on visas that expired earlier than March 1.
The Embassy requested affected residents to submit their paperwork for “for onward transmission to the UAE authorities in an effort to receive the mandatory clearance.”
An evacuation flight is anticipated to go away the UAE on August 1.
“The Embassy needs to tell that the federal government of the United Arab Emirates has granted waivers on fines/penalties on visas that expired earlier than 1st March 2020 to go away the nation on or earlier than 17th of August, 2020.
“Accordingly, affected Nigerian nationals who’re keen to return residence are kindly requested to submit their names and passport numbers to the Embassy and or the Consulate for onward transmission to the UAE authorities in an effort to receive the mandatory clearance,” the assertion learn partially.
