The Nationwide Drug Legislation Enforcement Company (NDLEA), has denied reviews that its Chairman, retired Col. Muhammad Abdallah has been sacked by President Muhammadu Buhari.
Mr Jonah Achema, spokesperson for NDLEA, made the clarifications throughout an interview with newsmen on Tuesday, in Abuja, NAN reviews.
Achema, a Deputy Commander of Narcotics (DCN), stated, nevertheless, that the tenure of Abdallah who was appointed on Jan. 12, 2016 expired on Jan.11.
“The chairman was not sacked as reported by some media organizations.
“Nevertheless, his five-year tenure elapsed on Jan. 11,’’ he stated.
Recall that the Company on Monday introduced the suspension of the continued screening of candidates for recruitment.
This adopted a directive issued by the Lawyer Basic of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, ordering the company to place screening of the 5,000 new recruits on maintain.
This he stated, was as a result of second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
