As Muslims the world over put together for the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’advert Abubakar III, has directed the Muslim Ummah in Nigeria to look out for the brand new moon of Dhul-Hijja 1441 AH from Tuesday, July 21.
The Information Company of Nigeria (NAN) reviews that Dhul-Hijja is the 12th month within the Islamic Calendar wherein the Muslim neighborhood performs annual Hajj and Have a good time Eid-el-Kabir.
Abubakar, who’s the President-Normal of Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) made the decision on Monday in a press release signed by Prof. Sambo Junaidu, Chairman, Advisory Committee on Non secular Affairs, Sultanate Council, Sokoto.
“That is to tell the Muslim Ummah that Tuesday, July 21, 2020, which is equal to 29th day of Dhul-Qadah 1441 AH, shall be the day to look out for the brand new moon of Dhul-Hijja 1441 AH.
“Muslims are, subsequently, requested to begin looking for the brand new moon and to report its sighting to the closest district or village head for onward communication to the Sultan,” he stated.
The Sultan prayed for Allah to assist the Muslim neighborhood within the discharge of their spiritual duties.
