Tension as political thugs invade Ondo Assembly, prevent lawmakers from entering

Hoodlums suspected to be members of the Nationwide Union of Highway Transport Staff, NURTW, in Ondo State, on Monday stormed the premises of the Ondo State Home of Meeting of their lots of.

The presence of the hoodlums has created rigidity amongst residence of the state.

It was gathered that the thugs converged on the Meeting to forestall the 4 reinstated lawmakers from gaining entrance into the Meeting complicated.

Recall that the lawmakers who had been a part of the legislators who moved in opposition to the impeachment of the Deputy Governor of the state, Agboola Ajayi had earlier had their suspension quashed by an Akure Excessive Court docket.

Reacting to the event, the Deputy Speaker of the Meeting, Iroju Ogundeji who was one of many suspended lawmakers accused Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and the Speaker, Bamidele Oleyelogun of masterminding the event.

Iroju mentioned, “Idajo and his members from the Nationwide Union of Highway Transport Staff, NURTW, got here to the Home to kill us on the order of the Governor and the Speaker. They mentioned we should always not enter the Home to carry out our constitutional legislative duties.
