UNILAG: Buhari orders VC Ogundipe, Wale Babalakin to step apart

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the Chairman, Governing Council of the College of Lagos (UNILAG), Wale Babalakin and the Vice Chancellor, Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, to step apart.

Ben Goong, Director of Public Relations, Federal Ministry of Schooling, mentioned this in an announcement on Friday.

Babalakin and Ogundipe have been directed to recuse themselves from obligation “pending the result of the Particular Visitation Panel” arrange by the president.

The governing council had eliminated Ogundipe and appointed Theophilus Omololu Soyombo of the College of Social Sciences because the Performing VC.

The establishment’s Senate and unions oppose the sack.

The Tutorial Workers Union of Universities (ASUU) accused Babalakin of appearing above the regulation.

The Committee of Vice Chancellors of Universities (CVC) referred to as Ogundipe’s elimination “a hatchet job”.
